No input fields for context parameters (on function simulation screen)

Dear Gurus,

 

I'm trying to complete a tutorial from BRFplus – The Book .

I successfully created and activated a function. The function has few context parameters (see picture 1).

Now I'm trying to simulate it.

 

- I pressed the button "Start simulation". A screen "Simulation" appears (see picture 2).

- Then I pressed the button and saw another screen "Simulation" (see picture 3).

  But there are no input fields for context parameters on this screen.

  In my opinion there should be input fields where i can set values for context parameters.

 

I'm working on "clear" installation of trial edition of NetWeaver 7.31 (see picture 4).

How to read BRF+ decision table into an internal table in ABAP

Hello.

 

I need to get the complete content of a BRF+ decision table in an internal table in ABAP.

Is that possible?

Can someone show me some example code?

BRFPlus Transports - Ability to maintain Decision table entries in PRD

Hi BRFPlus gurus,

 

We are using BRFplus rules in place of customizing tables to maintain some of our business rules.

 

The way I want to see this working is.

 

1) Define Application, Function, Expression (decision table), Data objects in Dev - maintain some test entries in decision table in dev to test.

2) Transport all the objects created in step 1 except decision table entries to QA and evntually to PRD.

 

The problem that I am facing is.

 

1) When I create an application I get to choose Storage Type: System, Customizing or Master Data.

I choose Customizing and that way the application and all the underneath objects get included in the customizing transport and is transportable. What I am not sure is how to exclude decision table entries from the customizing transport.

 

2) In Target systems (QA/PRD) we are not able to maintain any object, including decision table entries. We want users to be able to maintain decision table entris in target systems.

 

How can this be achieved? Is this even possible?

 

Also I will appreciate if someone can help me understand storage types (System, Customizing or Master Data) with examples. I see that if 'Master Data' type is used objects cann't be transported. If 'System' type is used, BRFPlus GUI screen exits while trying to enter transport number and Save. Customizing type is the only type I was able to use for my scneario, but I was not able to exclude decision table entries from the customizing request.

 

I will appreciate any ideas.

Restoring Deleted decision table

Hi Experts ,

 

I have a issue in front of me . A decision table , which is used in production, is deleted by someone.

I could not find any object with the Object ID of that table , however same is available in other systems.

 

In case I have old transport than also I don't have any idea that how to retrieve the same in BRFplus

 

Please guide me how to restore the deleted table.

For character type fields it is working fine, but when i am trying to fetch value of a FLTP type field, I get the following error

Reference field referring to a different table for field ATFLV

Please help me with this.

regeneration of BRFplus application for Utilities scenario

Good afternoon experts

 

We are in an ISU-CRM ehp2 environment and are currently implementing  BRF rules for configurable products.

In our development system we have defined attributes (transaction CRM_ISU_CONFIG) and generated BRF applications z1,z2,z3  with usage CI,CD,CC (sm30 for CRMV_ISU_BRF_APP).

-The applications are created automatically as a local customizing type.

-The utilities attributes become available automatically as data elements  in the new generated applications.

 

Transport to our test system followed.

-The attributes appeared as in development system whereas the applications had to be regenerated (also in sm30 for CRMV_ISU_BRF_APP).

All good at this point.

 

After the transport we have created new attributes in development system.

- The newly created attributes have become available automatically in applications z1, z2, z3 .

 

Transport followed.

- The new attributes were transported in our test system but are not picked up as data elements in the applications.

- The option for generating the applications is not available any more (it's one off generation).

- Manual creation of the missing attributes within the applications is not possible)

 

Could you please confirm how can we regenerate a BRFplus application for Utilities in the test system or have it transported from the development system?

Best Practices for customizable Business Rules?

In a recent project, I finally had the opportunity to try out BRF+. With the help of several articles and on-line tutorials, I was able to create an application with a function and several other objects, generate the template code and integrate it into the remaining ABAP application. So far so good.

 

What I want to achieve next is a better separation of the rule set from the application. At the moment, the application code contains a hard-coded UUID that refers to the BRF+ function (and actually a second UUID for the import data object). This is OK as long as that application and the BRF+ function are always used in that combination. When delivering the application to another system landscape or another customer, this might not be we need: The other customer will have different business rules. At the moment, the only way to implement these rules would be to modify "our" BRF+ application, which is undesirable (especially since with every subsequent transport, there's a risk of overwriting the BRF+ objects again).

 

What is the recommended way to approach this? At the moment, all I can think of is some kind of customizing table that lets the customer specify another BRF+ application. However, this raises another set of questions: Can I somehow specify function names instead of (rather cumbersome) UUIDs? What do I do about the data object UUIDs? How do I ensure that the customers function has the same signature (input and output structure) so that I don't have to worry about runtime compatibility? Somehow I think that there should be something more sophisticated than a simple customizing table, but I don't know what to look for, exactly...

How to make BRF+ decision tables editable in PROD system

Hi Gurus,

 

I have created a BRF+ Application which has two decision tables and rules and functions to simulate thoese rules. I am calling BRF+ functions in my ABAP application.I

My application worked well in DEV and QUALITY system.

But when we transported this application to PROD, it says we can not make changes to BRF+ decision tables.

We want to maintain rules in both decision tables in PROD system directly.

have created my application as customized object. Is this the reason it is stopping me to modify BRF+ decision tables?

 

Please suggest ASAP as its production system issue.

I'm very interested in attending a hands-on, technical BRF Plus training course. Does such a course exist?

 

I considered the TZBRF (BRF Framework) course but it seems more high-level / business-level / introductory.

 

If we could get enough interested people together (how many?) would one of the BRF+ team make the long flight to Australia? :-)

From BRF+ output in ABAP not coming Properly

Hi Experts,

 

I have created few functions in BRFplus and added code in ABAP for calling them.

 

At the first run output comes properly, but in case i make any change in the ABAP code then output  is not coming as expected,

 

then everytime i have to go to BRFplus function , i have to make some change there and re-activate it.

Then output can be seen in ABAP.

 

Kindly let me know what is the solution for this problem.

Group Aggregate Data with BRF+

E.g. I may want a part of a BRF+ function to count the occurrences of every material in table MVKE (select count ( * ) from MVKE group by MATNR), like I do it in transaction TAANA.

 

However, neither "group by" nor table result objects are supported by BRF+ > Expression > DB Lookup > Aggregate > Count.


Do you have any suggestions for highly performing alternatives?

2.Any documents for basic concepts for all these having the explanation of basic things used like actions,expressions,rules etc

SAP CE BRM decision table input and output

HI,

 

I have requirement on BRM decision tables where....

 

1) Product Type is derived from Auth Group

2)Auth grp is derived from Product Type

 

 

If I am creating Decision table I have to set one column as input and one as output. In this case I am ending up with creating 2 decision tables to get the desired output for mentioned requirements.

 

is there a way that we can create one decision table  where we can get the output? Business dont want to end up with updating 2 tables when ever there is change required.This table will have more than 100+ rows entries.

 

 

for ex : If I send Prd type it has to give auth grp- combination value

          If I send Prd type it has to give auth grp combination value



Please let me if we have solution for this on BRM?
