Recommended mechanism to call BRF+function from ABAP function module

Hi Carsten and other Experts,

We have developed BRF+ function with lot of context parameters and tables inside the context. We would like to call this function inside ECC function module.

What is the preferred method of calling BRF+ function inside ECC ABAP code? I have seen some blogs talking about generating a FM out of BRF+ function and calling it inside ECC FM/report, not sure if it is the preferred approach. Please suggest.

Please note that our context is little complex with around 40 input parameters with internal tables.
